A homemade bomb exploded near the downtown Kuwait offices of Saudi Arabian Airlines, the state-run Kuwait News Agency reported in Manama, Bahrain. The blast came a day after Riyadh announced it was severing ties with Iran, but there was no apparent link between the explosion and that move. Police said one guard in the building, which also houses the Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific, was slightly wounded. Meantime, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman in Tehran lashed out at the oil-rich kingdom, saying the Saudi government’s “unilateral breaking of relations with Islamic Iran” showed it is “toeing the U.S. foreign policy” line.
