Two escaped murderers from the Kentucky State Penitentiary were captured after a brief exchange of gunfire with state police. Ronnie Hudson, 29, and Joseph Montgomery, 27, were taken into custody after being discovered in a field near Campbellsville in central Kentucky, officials said. State police said children had found two tote bags that were believed to have been dropped by the escapees, who were among eight who fled the prison at Eddyville last week. Three others have been captured.
