Dick Davis, a former major leaguer who has been playing in Japan since 1984, was released by Japanese prosecutors only to be dropped by his team, the Kintetsu Buffaloes. Davis, 34, was arrested June 8 in Osaka, Japan, after Japanese drug agents found 14 grams of marijuana, with a street value of about $5,600, at his home.
Davis was reported to be leaving Osaka for San Francisco. He lives in Riverside during the off-season.
