A blood clot in the main artery of Boston Red Sox pitcher Dennis (Oil Can) Boyd’s right shoulder has been dissolved, team physician Dr. Arthur Pappas said.
Pappas said Boyd would continue his medical therapy at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and would be allowed to go home in the next few days.
Pappas said it has not been determined when Boyd, a right-hander, will return to the team.
