Rooms for Pets

I am disturbed over the recent article on a hotel for animals. I had to wonder how many people would actually be in need of information on $55-a-day rooms for their pets while they vacation. I thought of the times the pet hotel owner needed community support to encourage her in her work.

The reason for my concern is I work in preventing the abuse of children by helping to strengthen families. This is not always easy with the divorce rate, stress of poverty and various heartaches and problems accompanied by a lack of education.

For example, in Orange a young mother with a family has a young boy with a life-threatening disease in a one-room motel. She also has another infant and she is pregnant. This motel is all she can afford, and she longs for a vacation.
