FileNet of Costa Mesa has introduced a lower-cost version of its optical disk document storage system.
The Costa Mesa company said the new system is designed for small departments of major corporations whose document storage requirements are not as large as FileNet’s usual customers--banks, insurance companies and government agencies.
FileNet’s computerized systems copy and store office paper work on optical disks. After copying a document, an exact image can be called up on a personal computer screen.
FileNet said its 3100 System Series will sell for $135,000, or about 30% less than the company’s least costly current model, which goes for $195,000.
