PLO Panel Visits Egypt to Discuss Plan for State

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt — A six-member PLO delegation met Tuesday with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss Palestinian plans for an independent state in Israeli-occupied territories.
Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee said the panel agreed with Mubarak that the group should draft a moderate program for its planned government in exile “to win world sympathy.”
