The Bavarian town where former Nazi Deputy Fuehrer Rudolf Hess is buried banned neo-Nazi demonstrations on the anniversary of his suicide. Hess, who was serving a life sentence in West Berlin’s Spandau prison for Nazi crimes, died last Aug. 17 at age 93. Authorities in Wunsiedel said that right-wing extremists had given notice of plans to demonstrate today. “We’d been told to expect between 500 to 1,000 right-wing extremists,” district government chairman Christoph Schiller said.
