Reagan Calls Quayle to Congratulate Him

SANTA BARBARA — President Reagan telephoned Sen. Dan Quayle of Indiana to congratulate him on his selection as Vice President George Bush’s running mate and told him that he “looks forward to working with him,” a spokesman said today.
Marlin Fitzwater told reporters that Reagan reached Quayle at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Quayle’s hotel in New Orleans and “simply wanted to wish him good luck.
