Jason Rolish, who batted .267 as a part-time center fielder for Cal State Fullerton last season, has been released from his scholarship by mutual agreement, the school said.
Because his scholarship was not renewed, Rolish, a former Servite High School player who was a sophomore last season, will not be required to sit out next season at another school.
Rolish started all four games for the Titans at the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. South Regional but did not start any games at the College World Series, in which the Titans finished in a tie for third.
Fullerton was 43-18 last season.
