Pilkenton Opens With 4 Winners at Los Alamitos

Bruce Pilkenton, the leading rider during the early summer season at Los Alamitos Race Course, began where he left off Tuesday by winning four of the first seven races on opening night of the 20-night late-summer quarter horse season.

Pilkenton, who won 71 races during the 58-night early summer quarter horse season, got his fourth win when guiding first-time starter Jazzing Hi to victory in the seventh race. Pilkenton had won the second race aboard Doctor Myway, the fifth aboard Chancetta and the sixth with Cable Doctor.

The late-summer quarter horse season runs Tuesday through Saturday nights.

Madollar Mia, ridden by Danny Cardoza, won the featured 350-yard ninth race. Madollar Mia covered the distance in 17.66 seconds and paid $6.80, 5 and 3.
