Ulster Fugitive’s Extradition Cleared

DUBLIN, Ireland — A Dublin court cleared the way on Wednesday for the extradition of a Belfast man who escaped from a Northern Ireland jail four years ago while serving a 20-year prison sentence for killing a policeman.
The Dublin High Court ruled after a two-hour hearing that Robert Russell, who has just finished a three-year sentence for his part in a jail breakout in Dublin, should be sent back to Ulster later this month.
Russell, 30, had been convicted of killing a Northern Ireland policeman in Belfast.
He would be the third suspect to be extradited to Northern Ireland.
