Heartbreakers (Channel 13 Sunday at 3 p.m.): Bobby Roth’s incisive study of two friends, two very different young men trying to make it in contemporary L.A. Peter Coyote and Nick Mancuso star. (2:00)
The Fringe Dwellers (TMC Tuesday at 6 a.m., 6 p.m.): Bruce Beresford’s fine study of a bright aborigine teen-ager is marred by unclear motivation at the film’s shocking finish but is nonetheless worthy and engaging. (2:00)
Alphaville (Z Wednesday at 2:30 a.m.): Jean-Luc Godard’s bold, futuristic and witty cross between detective thriller and Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” stars a world-weary Eddie Constantine. A key early Godard. (1:37)
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (Channel 28 Wednesday at 11:30 p.m.): The Capra classic starring James Stewart as an idealistic young senator. (2:15)
Paramount on Parade (Z Saturday at 7:30 a.m.): Paramount’s 1930 answer to MGM’s “Hollywood Revue of 1929,” showing that its stars could talk, too--and maybe even sing and dance. This all-star revue is an irresistible collector’s item. (1:20)
