Liberty Coin Tops Qualifiers at Los Alamitos

Liberty Coin posted the fastest qualifying time for the $350,000 Denim N Diamonds Futurity, covering the 400 yards in 19.97 seconds to win Wednesday’s second trial at Los Alamitos by 1 lengths.

Liberty Coin recorded his second victory in three starts, leading all the way under jockey Steve Treasure to defeat Fols Snazzys Girl.

Moon Over Cari, a winner by half a length over Griswold in the third trial, posted the second fastest qualifying mark of 20.08.

Others qualifying for the Sept. 3 final were Leading Effort (20.10), Special Commander (20.11), Fols Snazzys Girl (20.14), Special Perks (20.14), Griswold (20.15), The Big Kahuna (20.15), Game Sissy (20.17) and Sagesensation (20.18).
