“Good Morning America” co-host Joan Lunden told Parade magazine that plans she and husband Michael Krauss were hatching for Lunden’s own afternoon talk show were stymied because her network, ABC, did not want her to leave the morning news-talk show. “We gave it a good shot, but ABC was not thrilled with the idea that I might be leaving ‘GMA,’ ” Lunden said. She said she couldn’t get New York and Los Angeles stations to buy the new show, adding that she thinks she “could be a terrific afternoon person” and indicating that she will probably sign on with “GMA” for another year. Lunden also said she thought ex-”GMA” host David Hartman “didn’t allow (her) to grow. David wanted to retain control.”
