A 3-year-old boy was killed Wednesday when the motorcycle he and his uncle were riding struck a car making a U-turn in Southeast San Diego, police said.
Jairo Perez, of the 3000 block of Logan Avenue, died at the scene of the accident on South 30th Street near Ocean View Boulevard.
The boy’s uncle, Alfredo Leyva, 32, collided with the left rear of a car driven by Lynette Davis, 26, of Southeast San Diego, shortly before 7:30 p.m., police spokesman Bill Robinson said. The car turned in front of the motorcycle.
Leyva, of the same address as Perez, was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with neck and head injuries. He was reported in good condition Thursday.
