Tunisia President Gets a Message From Chad

TUNIS, Tunisia — Chadian Foreign Minister Gouara Lassou arrived in Tunis on Wednesday evening with a message for President Zine Abidine ben Ali from President Hissen Habre, official sources said on Thursday.
Tunisia has been trying to mediate in the dispute between Chad and Libya over the Aouzou Strip on their common border. But Chad has denied Tunisian news reports that Habre and Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi will meet in Tunis this week.
“Nothing in the Libyan attitude indicates that such a summit could be imminent,” Chadian Television said Monday.
