CAMPAIGN ’88 : Doctor Finds Quayle in Excellent Health
- Share via
Sen. Dan Quayle’s health is excellent and the Republican vice presidential candidate suffers only from slightly high cholesterol levels and minor skin and nasal problems, a doctor’s report released by Quayle’s office said Friday.
Based on an Aug. 1 examination and a study of the Indiana senator’s medical and family history, Dr. Robert Krasner, senior assistant attending physician at the U.S. Capitol, pronounced Quayle healthy.
“In summary, you are . . . in excellent health without any active problems,” Krasner wrote in a letter to Quayle dated Aug. 29.
Quayle’s cholesterol level of 228 is “marginally elevated” and can be reduced by proper diet and exercise, Krasner wrote. The senator rides a stationary bicycle one to three times weekly and does not smoke, the report said.
