Beverly Hills : Construction Ban OKd
The City Council on Tuesday gave final approval to an ordinance prohibiting heavy construction and maintenance in residential areas on Saturdays.
The law, aimed at easing hardships on residents caused by a residential building boom in the city, bans heavy construction within 500 feet of a residential neighborhood. It only applies to projects that require a city permit. Minor maintenance and repair work are not affected.
The ordinance supplements an existing ban on heavy construction on Sundays, public holidays and every night between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.
