The Dolphins were led by senior running back Zach Hickman, who carried the ball 20 times for 110 yards. But the game was decided by kickers Ryan Harrison of Dana Hills and Jason Crabbe of Laguna Beach.
The Dolphins scored first on a 25-yard field goal by Harrison with 2:19 left in the third quarter. Crabbe kicked a 31-yard field goal with 6:28 left.
Both teams are 0-2-1.
Dolphin senior Brandon Migge, who plays fullback and defensive end, sacked Scheid three times.
Near the end of the first half, Dana Hills drove to the Laguna Beach 3-yard line. But with 33 seconds left, Laguna Beach defensive back Tyler Lennon intercepted a Brent Gaut pass to stop the drive.
