Harry Wendlestedt was selected as crew chief of National League umpires for the playoffs.
John McSherry, Dutch Rennert, Paul Runge, Joe West, and Bob Davidson will join Wendlestedt for the New York Mets-Dodgers series scheduled to start Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
The American League named Don Denkinger its crew chief. Denkinger will be joined by Ted Hendry, Ken Kaiser, Greg Kosc, Tim McClelland, and John Shulock. The Oakland Athletics-Boston Red Sox series is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Boston.
