Bergen Brunswig Corp.’s 1988 profit soared to $34.7 million from $15.9 million a year ago. Revenue for the year grew 12% to $3.49 billion. The Orange-based diversified health services and consumer electronics distributor credited the results to strong sales and consolidation in its drug and health-care unit, increased electronics sales and a reduction in tax expenses.
