Doctor Finds Tyson Isn’t Manic-Depressive

NEW YORK — A psychiatrist who examined world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson found no evidence of manic-depression, according to a report in today’s New York Daily News.
Tyson’s manager said a Dec. 17 fight with Britain’s Frank Bruno is to go ahead as scheduled. Dr. Abraham Halpern examined Tyson for more than 30 minutes, the newspaper said, pronounced him fit and said the psychiatrist who earlier had diagnosed Tyson as manic-depressive had reversed that diagnosis.
