Coax Me Clyde outraced Bel Air Dancer in a neck-and-neck home-stretch duel to win by 1 length in the $135,000 Volante Handicap for 3-year-olds in the Oak Tree meeting Wednesday at Santa Anita.
Coax Me Clyde, with Patrick Valenzuela aboard, carried 116 pounds as he finished at 1:48 2/5 over the 1 1/8 miles and paid $30,60, $14 and $8.60.
Bel Air Dancer, carrying 117 with Laffit Pincay Jr., held onto second by a nose over Undercut, ridden by Chris McCarron, 120. Bel Air Dancer paid $15.40 and $10, and Undercut paid $6.40 to show.
