A 22-year-old West Hollywood man was arrested on suspicion of felony animal cruelty Friday morning for shooting a cat to death, sheriff’s deputies said.
Robert Bierer was arrested after an area resident walking to work in the 9000 block of Rosewood Avenue told of seeing the cat staggering out of a back yard and dropping dead in a driveway, Deputy David Smith said. Bierer allegedly came into view carrying a pellet rifle.
Bierer told deputies he shot the cat because it was on his property, Smith said.
