Local News in Brief : Hot Lines Set Up to Report Broken Lights
- Share via
Los Angeles wants to have all of its 220,000 street lights glowing by Halloween to make things safer for trick-or-treaters, Mayor Tom Bradley said Friday as he asked citizens to report outages.
The mayor listed two hot line numbers that can be called. “Any routine problem or broken light will be corrected within 48 hours after a call to the hot line,” Bradley said.
The numbers are (213) 482-LITE and (818) 994-LITE.
Actually, said Board of Public Works spokesman Tony Harris, “it’s part of our yearlong effort to make the city more beautiful.”
Officials said they do not know how many lights are not working.
