Israel Reportedly Sinks 3 PLO Dinghies

TYRE, Lebanon — Two Israeli gunboats backed by a helicopter gunship sank three rubber dinghies carrying Palestinian guerrillas who apparently were trying to reach Israel from southern Lebanon, police said Friday.
At least three guerrillas were killed in the clash Thursday off the port of Tyre in southern Lebanon, a police spokesman said.
In Jerusalem, an Israeli army spokesman said he knew nothing about the incident.
