HONOLULU — Byron Scott scored 24 points as the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors, 126-107, Thursday night in an exhibition opener for both teams.
Off-season acquisition Orlando Woolridge added 16 points for the Lakers, and James Worthy had 15, Tony Campbell 14.
Otis Smith led the Warriors with 19.
The Lakers took a 61-58 halftime lead on a 3-pointer by Scott with one second left, then extended the margin to as many as 22 in the second half.
