Truvel Reverses Year-Ago Loss in the Third Quarter

Truvel Corp., a Chatsworth company that recently began selling computerized scanning machines, said its net income for the third quarter that ended Oct. 1 was $1,000 compared to a loss of $435,000 in the same period a year earlier. Sales shot up to $2.3 million in the period compared to $138,000 a year earlier.
For the nine months that ended Oct. 1, Truvel lost $1.6 million compared to a loss of $908,000 in the same period a year earlier. Sales were up to $3.6 million compared to $297,000 in the same period a year ago.
Truvel’s scanners take electronic pictures of documents and other objects, then store the images in a computer, where they can be altered and reproduced quickly.
