Troy is 5-1-1 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Buena Park (2-4-1, 0-2) intercepted 3 passes and recovered a fumble, but could not keep its offense going.
The Buena Park offense was penalized for 40 yards, and quarterback Matt Acevedo was sacked 6 times.
Acevedo scored for Buena Park with 11:14 left in the game on a 4-yard run that capped a 34-yard drive set up by a 31-yard punt by Troy punter Tom Wilson from the Troy 3-yard line.
Despite the victory, Troy Coach John Turek was upset. “We can’t seem to put together a full game offensively. If we play like this next week (against La Habra) we’ll get tattooed,” he said.
