Milford Springer; Ex-Gas Company Counsel

Milford Springer, 80, former deputy Los Angeles city attorney and retired general counsel of the old Southern Counties Gas Go. A former student body president of Los Angeles High School and graduate of Stanford Law School, Springer was deputy city attorney from 1933 to 1937 and then entered government service. He was counsel to the Federal Communications Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Power Commission. He joined the gas company’s legal staff in 1946 after World War II service and retired in 1970. In Vista on Oct. 20.
