Esperanza Boys, Los Alamitos Girls Win Cross-Country Championships

Brian Hild’s first-place finish led the Esperanza High School boys’ cross-country team (5-0) to the team title and league championship at the Empire League finals Tuesday at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton
Esperanza (49 points), Katella (57) and Los Alamitos (74) will represent the league at the Southern Section preliminaries Nov. 11 at Mt. San Antonio College.
In the Empire League girls’ competition, Tracy Fatone finished second in 19:06 to lead Los Alamitos (5-0) to the team title and league championship.
