Fall Roundup : Northridge Breezes to Soccer Win

Cal State Northridge’s soccer team scored on 2 of its first 3 shots and coasted to a 4-1 victory over Cal Poly Pomona in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match Wednesday at CSUN.
Steve Lazarus scored first on an assist by Scott Piri. Keith Martin added an unassisted goal to give the Matadors a 2-0 advantage 10:20 into the contest.
Bobby Reyes also scored in the first half and Lazarus scored again in the second half. CSUN improved to 13-7, 7-2 in conference play.
WATER POLO
Royal 13, Westlake 8--The Highlanders (14-6, 7-0) clinched their eighth consecutive Marmonte League title behind Devon Hurst’s 7 goals at Westlake.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Occidental 1, Whittier 0--Occidental won its final game behind a first-half goal by Jenny Lawrence in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Chaminade d. Notre Dame, 15-5, 3-15, 15-7, 15-11--Alissa Levisohn had 12 kills, Kim Kisylia 10 and Janet McKay 8 for Chaminade (11-5, 8-2) in the San Fernando Valley League match. Chaminade finished in a first-place tie with Louisville.
Louisville d. Bell-Jeff, 15-5, 15-5, 15-7--Marybeth Giordano, Jenny Calfo and Torie Sumner each had 6 kills for Louisville.
Reseda d. Birmingham, 15-13, 12-15, 15-9--Jennifer Marzahl had 18 kills as Reseda (12-2, 9-1) won the Valley Pac-8 Conference title.
