1 Marine Pilot Is Killed as 2 Jet Fighters Collide

YUMA, Ariz. — Two Marine Corps jet fighters collided Thursday over a training range, and one pilot was killed, a spokesman said. The pilot who was killed was in a single-seat FA-18 Hornet that crashed in the Chocolate Mountains training area. The other pilot flew his damaged Hornet to the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, the spokesman said.
