A weekend apartment fire that caused $17,000 damage was the work of an arsonist, the Orange County Fire Department said Monday.
Kathleen Cha, the department’s public information officer, said the blaze in apartment A at 1380 San Juan St. was reported at 11:41 p.m. Sunday and brought under control about 15 minutes later. The apartment’s occupant, Elayne Frank, fled the burning apartment and was not injured, Cha said.
