Local News in Brief : Pomona Man Admits 12-Day Arson Spree

An unemployed Pomona man described as a firebug has been arrested in connection with 27 fires in a 12-day arson spree throughout the city, Pomona authorities said Tuesday.
Jim Asoau, 29, admitted to arson investigators that he was responsible for the fires, which caused an estimated $600,000 in damage, according to Pomona Fire Division Chief Lyn Rochelle. Asoau was being held at the Municipal Jail in lieu of $1-million bail.
