Largemouth Bass Bite Exceptional at Vail Lake

Largemouth bass have been slow to cooperate with fishermen at most Southland reservoirs, but anglers at Vail Lake in Riverside County have been experiencing an exceptional bite.
Most fish have been averaging under 5 pounds, but Steve Averswald of Yorba Linda caught a 7-pound 13-ounce bass and Bill Pettinger, a marine stationed at Camp Pendleton, caught one weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces.
