Student, 16, Shoots His History Teacher in Face

ABILENE, Tex. — A 16-year-old high school student walked up to his history teacher at the end of class Tuesday, shot him in the face and walked out the door, witnesses said.
The Cooper High School teacher, Rick Maloney, 35, was reported in stable condition. The student, whose name was not released because of his age, surrendered to police about two hours later.
Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting.
