Newport Beach : Restaurant Accused of Dumping Sewage in Bay
- Share via
Managers of the Rueben E. Lee Restaurant in Costa Mesa were accused this week of violating the state water code by dumping raw sewage into the state-protected harbor, police said.
Two felony counts were filed against the owners of the restaurant in Harbor Municipal Court, and two individual managers were also named in the charges, said Newport Beach Police Officer Greg Armstrong, who headed the criminal investigation.
Although the alleged dumping at the restaurant reportedly spanned a quarter-century, the charges are limited to two alleged violations this year.
