Yoshitaka Yamamoto of Japan shot a 3-under-par 69 to take the first-round lead in the $720,000 Casio World Open tournament at Kaimoncho, Japan. Hajime Meshiai and Shinsaku Maeda, both of Japan, were tied for second at 71.
