Cerritos and Chabot Meet for Junior College Title

Cerritos held off a late charge by City College of San Francisco to defeat the Rams, 88-84, and Chabot beat defending champion El Camino, 72-65, in the semifinals of the State junior college basketball tournament Friday night at Santa Clara’s Toso Pavilion.
The Falcons (30-4) will meet the Gladiators (28-5) tonight at 8 in the championship game.
Gene Humphrey and Wayne Gipson each made a free throw in the final 30 seconds to clinch the Cerritos win. Delvon Anderson, who scored all 20 of his points in the second half, made two three-point shots as CCSF (26-10) moved within 86-84.
El Camino (24-9) was outscored, 16-6, in the last four minutes.
