A mother who allegedly killed her 3-year-old son by hanging him from a bedroom rafter has been charged with murder.
If convicted, Bella Aparicio, 28, could be sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison. The district attorney’s office is not seeking a death sentence in the case.
The 3-year-old, Manuel, was found by his father Feb. 16, hanging from his neck on a rope from a bedroom rafter in the family’s Mid-Wilshire home.
