Arizona State Holds Three-Stroke Margin Over Arizona in Pac-10 Golf Tournament

SEATTLE — Arizona State held on to first place by three strokes over Arizona, 721-724, after Tuesday’s second round of the Pacific 10 Golf Championships at the par-70, 6,116-yard Broadmoor Golf Club.
The Wildcats had the low team total of the day with a score of 357. UCLA was next at 361.
Individually, seven players recorded sub-par rounds, compared with just four Monday. Christian Cevaer of Stanford, John Bizik of Arizona State, Jon Lindstrom of Washington State and Rob Sullivan of UCLA each carded two-under-par rounds of 68 to tie for low-round honors.
In the battle for medalist honors were Per Johansson of Arizona State and Cevaer. Both have two-round totals of 138. Monday’s leader, Chris Holzgang of Oregon, went from a 66 Monday to a 74. He was in a three-way tie for third with Bizik and Robert Gamez of Arizona at 140.
O.D. Vincent, last year’s Pac-10 champion, was in a group of players tied for 26th at 149. Vincent carded a five-over-par 75 on Tuesday.
The tournament concludes today with all 10 teams playing 18 holes.
