Navy Pilot Parachutes to Safety Before Crash

FALLON, Nev. — A Navy pilot parachuted to safety moments before his FA-18 jet fighter crashed and burned in the desert Tuesday during a training exercise. Cmdr. James Godwin was airlifted to the medical clinic at the Naval Air Station for observation.
