Costa Mesa : City Attorney Quitting to Join Private Firm

Thomas Wood, city attorney of Costa Mesa, announced Tuesday that he is resigning to join the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen.
Wood, 49, will manage the firm’s Southern California branch, scheduled to open in Costa Mesa in July. The branch initially will focus its practice on land use, real estate and environmental law, Wood said.
Wood joined the city attorney’s office in 1977 and assumed his current post in 1980.
His resignation is effective July 1.
