Verdict in North’s Iran-Contra Trial

We are upset about the North verdict. Why--pray tell us--do we have a legal system whereby we give people who break the law a slap on the wrist, or parole them after a short time of incarceration, and why does a man, a real patriot who loves his country above all, get a conviction?
We would like to get an answer, and, if possible a reversal of the verdict and a more just legal system.
