J.S. Boyd’s May 7 letter states the first film made for TV was “The Pied Piper of Hamelin,” 1957. I appeared in a film made for TV by Hal Roach Jr. in 1950, “Hurricane at Pilgrim Hill.”
Roach made a series of these one-hour films, sponsored by Magnavox. The first was “The Three Musketeers,” televised a week before “Hurricane at Pilgrim Hill.”
