Agenda for Cleaning Up Our Dirty Air
In response to “The Bush Plan for Clean Air,” Part I, June 13:
To the auto companies begging for more time and to the oil companies asking what will happen to their business, I ask, whatever happened to good old-fashioned competition?
The first one to come up with the technology and finish testing it will be the one to make the most money. Or, and this will never happen, they could pool their resources and all share in the profits!
Oil companies have money to invest--why not invest in the production of methanol and keep right on supplying motorists with this new, and more expensive fuel?
We have all delayed long enough. It’s time to “Just do it!”
