Conservancy Meets About Land Acquisition

Possible acquisition of the 25.9-acre Chandler Trust property by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy will be discussed at a meeting of the nonprofit group at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Peninsula Center Library in Rolling Hills Estates.
Conservancy president Bill Ailor said that the property, behind Dapplegray School and adjacent to the Chandlers’ Palos Verdes Sand & Gravel Co., is zoned for a maximum of five homes.
The property is one of the last major parcels of undeveloped land in Rolling Hills Estates. Ailor said acquisition of the property by the conservancy would depend on support by the local community and others.
“One of the purposes of the meeting is to assess whether the community will support the preservation of this parcel,” he said.
