Robert Rawitch, suburban editor of the Los Angeles Times, has been named to the newly created position of executive editor of the Valley edition of The Times. He will assume overall responsibility for the edition’s editorial operation. Rawitch also will work closely with Jeff Hall, the new president of the edition. Valley editor Charles Carter will continue to report to Rawitch and will continue to coordinate the day-to-day editorial operation. Rawitch will continue to report to Noel Greenwood, deputy managing editor.
